Explorers is the final youth section in the scouting family, for scouters ranging in age from 14-18yrs. Explorer scouting is a District provision.

At 12th Cambridge, we are very excited to have Woodsmoke Explorer Unit based with us.  The Unit is open to young people from around Cambridge District (not just the 12th!).

Led by Dan, Alice and Mark, our Explorers set themselves an exciting programme of events and activities.

About Young Leaders

Explorer Scout Young Leaders are those aged 14-18 who wish to gain leadership experience by helping to run younger sections (Beavers, Cubs and Scouts) at a Group. We like to think of them as ‘adult leaders in training’ and indeed many of our finest adult leaders started this way!  There is no requirement to attend an Explorer Unit as well as being a Young Leader, although many do, of course!

As a Group, 12th Cambridge is able to offer a limited number of places to those of Explorer Scout age to take part in the Young Leader scheme. Please get in touch with leaders of the section you would like to work with.
